How I Met Your Mother- Season 2, Episode 11- Mikasa Garden Harvest

Season 2, Episode 11

Hilarity knows no bounds in this Christmas episode of How I Met Your Mother, adequately entitled, “How Lily Stole Christmas.”

The Christmas season has descended upon Ted and the gang. Marshall is beside himself as he awaits Lily’s infamous decorating of the apartment, fondly referred to as the “winter wonderland”, while he studies in the library. Barney is trying to deny his impending flu, and Robin is insistent on taking care of him. However, holiday cheer is far from attainable between Lily and Ted when the two get into an argument about an old voice message left on the answering machine during Lily and Marshall’s break up. A voice message where Ted calls Lily, “a bad word…a very, very bad word”, which he substitutes for the word “the Grinch”. Ted explains that he was trying to comfort Marshall and make him feel better during their time a part, yet Lily will have none of it. Later on, Ted brings Lily a “make up” beer, a tradition they’ve continued since college, only to find that Lily has taken every Christmas decoration, leaving the apartment empty and bare, void of “winter wonderland” festivity.

As he rushes to make amends and reinstate the winter wonderland for the giddy, overly excited Marshall, Ted receives a call from his mother, Virginia, who has just spoken with Lilyvand reprimands Ted for calling Lily a “Grinch.” Virginia then puts her new boyfriend, Clint, on the phone who tries to sweet talk Ted into being “pals” one day. During this comical back and forth, we notice a Mikasa Garden Harvest platter sitting on the shelf behind Virginia and Clint.

Perfect for everyday use or special occasions, the versatile Garden Harvest pattern by Mikasa has been a continuous traditional favorite since 1991. Fresh fruits and green leaves border a matte textured design, correlating perfectly with your flatware and stemware!
