Valentine’s Day Table Setting: Down With Love

We’ve all been there. Everyone around you is anxiously discussing their lavish plans for Valentine’s Day: making expensive dinner reservations, planning a romantic get-away, cooking intimate romantic dinners for two, planting a cheesy engagement ring in a ramekin of crème brûlée…

But what about those of us who spend most Friday nights cuddling on the couch with Fluffy, the 15 year old tabby cat? Those of us who have grown use to date night consisting of renting a movie and sharing a of a bottle of Chardonnay with Me, Myself, and I?

Don’t worry! We got you covered.

The “Down With Love” table setting is dedicated to all of you singles out there who avoid Valentine’s Day like the Bubonic Plague.

So invite your gals over to celebrate “Gal-entine’s Day”, rejoice in your overwhelming “singleness”, embrace the black in a day of pink and red, and don’t be afraid to take out your frustration on a deliciously unsuspecting cupcake!

Alternate uses:

Vases- for this meal, a dainty vase wasn’t going to cut it. So we used a black mug and shot glass as anti-romance options.

Ice Bucket – We wanted to give some extra bling to this dramatic table, so we turned the Hall Golden Glo souffle dish into the perfect vessel to keep the patron cold!

Finishing Touches:

To give the flowers a Down with Love vibe, I dipped them in black food coloring. After dipping the flowers, wait for the food coloring to dry before placing on your table.
