In this episode, the gang is meeting up to share stories about their holidays. Sheldon and Amy have returned from a trip to Texas to visit his mother Mary (played by the brilliant Laurie Metcalf).  Though Sheldon loves his mother, his home state is not his favorite place to be – as Sheldon says  “The Lone Star State, that should be its Yelp rating”.

Sheldon and Amy recount the Sloppy Joe dinner they had with Mary. During dinner, Amy decided to broach the subject of her cohabitation with Sheldon. Despite Sheldon’s misgivings, Mary was happy with the news. Of course, this enraged Sheldon…..doesn’t everything? Though, this is one instance where Sheldon’s ire is justified. His mother said that she is thrilled with Sheldon living with Amy because she always assumed that he would end up alone due to his social shortcomings. Sheldon storms off in a huff, leaving Amy and Mary alone.
