Season 5 of beloved show Great Pottery Throw Down drops on HBO on April 14th, and so we are looking back at some of the pieces seen in previous seasons.
Season 3 brings a new judge into the pottery – Sue Pryke. Sue works across a diverse genre of ceramics, from making bespoke ware for restaurants and hotels in her Leicestershire studio to designing for big brands such and Marks & Spencer and Ikea.
The first episode of Season 3 features a breakfast set challenge. The potters must make 2 cups, 2 saucers, toast rack, and cafetiere (French press).
As the judges discuss the challenge, they stand behind a table filled with a veritable pantheon of British pottery. Spode, Royal Doulton, Royal Worcester, Molly Hatch, Denby, Portmeirion, and Hannah Turner.
The fourth pattern to explore is Royal Worcester Wrendale Designs. The pieces in this pattern feature watercolors painted by Hannah Dale, artist and founder of Wrendale Designs. The effervescent style of this collection is oh so irresistibly cute.
