Titus, and his boyfriend, Mikey head home for family dinner. At this dinner, Mikey plans on coming out to his family. Titus is anticipating much drama when the announcement is made, and he has a plan to swoop in to be the hero and quell the family’s concern with a speech and butterfly release that he has prepared. As Titus serves himself “Veal Face”, we can see Corelle Woodland Leaves dinnerware. Mikey is so nervous about telling his family that he can’t eat. This sends the family into uproar – his mother cries out “There is no God, oh Lucifer receive thy servants”. Titus sees this reaction as portent of how they will react when Mikey comes out. Titus knows his big moment is near.

In an effort to explain why he isn’t eating, Mikey blurts out that he is gay. The family goes silent. Then Mikey’s father haltingly begins to speak “Michael, do you know what the church says about homosexuality? Huh? Cuz I don’t anymore….Our gay Pope seems to be for it. So who am I to go against our gay Pope?” And with that Titus’ big moment has passed, for which he blames Ellen Degeneres.

In the end, it works out for Titus, as he is able to give his speech to the whole family as well as 2 police officers after being racially profiled.
