Trisha Yearwood is invited to prepare Thanksgiving dinner with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden with White House Executive Chef, Cristeta Comerford. Before heading to the kitchen, Dr. Biden and Trisha Yearwood go to the White House gardens to pick fresh vegetables and herbs to use in the meal. In addition to the current vegetable garden, which was established on the South Lawn by Michelle Obama in 2009, Dr. Biden has established a cut flower garden.
Due to construction in the White House kitchen, the cooking for this show happens in the kitchen at Blair House located across the street from the White House. Blair House serves as the guest house for the Executive Branch, and one may only stay at Blair House with an express invitation from the President of the United States. The house has hosted heads of state, royalty, Presidents-elect, First families, and many others since becoming the official state guest house in 1942.
It is only appropriate that the first pattern we will feature from this episode is Blair House by Tiffany & Co. In 1988, Tiffany & Co. designed and created an assortment of gifts exclusively for Blair House. These gifts included 150 place settings of sterling silverware and serving pieces, 100 place settings of fine china, and two large bronze donor plaques engraved with the names of major donors to the home’s restoration in the 1980s.
The pattern features a creamy white background with a vibrant floral design and rich gold trim. The sugar bowl and creamers can be seen in the butler’s pantry as Dr. Biden and Trisha Yearwood enter the kitchen at Blair House.
If you haven’t seen the episode yet, it will air again at 10AM Eastern on Thanksgiving (Nov 25, 2021) or watch it online here.
